The south will rise again!

Some vandal in Oregon sure has egg on his face.

The nicest gas station I have ever been to. It was just south of Sequim, WA.

We met a very friendly local named Den. We talked for a long time about the trip and the bikes. He really seemed to like us.

Setting up camp in Sequim.

Great American Rideabout

The next morning in Port Angeles. We got to the ferry to get to Victoria, on Vancouver Island. We met another rider.

His name is Art. He lives in Vancouver and was returning from a trip to the states.

He showed us the ropes in the ferry. Like these ropes here, which are a kinda lazy excuse for tie-downs.

Art and Paul.

Arriving in Victoria. Nice architecture!

Waiting in the customs line.

Cut to: The next ferry from Vancouver Island to the Vancouver mainland. And look who was there. Art!

And the rest.

The view of another ferry from our ferry.

Art and Paul work on finding us a place to stay in Vancouver.

Almost there.

Vancouver!

The south will rise again!

Got to an ATM post haste. Their money is neat looking. But I don't like the coins.

TheatRE. Canada! Ha!

Highly recommended by the people of the internet.

And it was a very good Japanese hot dog.

We've been getting away with a lot when it comes to parking.

Caprica City, oops, I mean Vancouver. That's a Battlestar Galactica joke.

Another one?

This place has style.

Blockey whale, be free!

The 8-bit whale up close. Also seen here is an orca statue.

Dinner part 2. Also recommended by the internet. Not the nicest part of town, but we talked to some very friendly people. It's Canada!

Good.

Ready to leave the Cassandra Hotel in Vancouver. We had a hell of a time getting out of the automated garage gate. But I was glad to have the security.

Vancouver, you will be missed.

OLYMPICS! Whistler was home of the winter games in Vancouver.

We were stuck with these folks for a while. That slow truck up there had no mercy.

That's all for now. I am typing this at a camp site with wifi and I can see my breath. It's time for bed.
